Welcome to the first social story! A story about a tiny misunderstanding because of what the acronym meant to different people! Remember if you want to share a story of yours contact me through DM or gmail: Thekikkerproject@gmail.com and we will work something out!
Here is the story:
I am going to share a story as a siblings:
Some background knowledge first:
- My brother's disability is called Pathological Demand Avoidance, PDA for short.
- PDA also stands for Public Display of Affection.
2 kids in my class were dating and a few of us were early to class (including the 2 people that were dating.) When the teacher walked in he said "no PDA in class please" directed to the couple. I looked at my teacher so confused, and he looked back at me equally confused as to why I looked so confused, so, he asked me "what's confusing you?" I answered back "PDA?" He laughed (kindly) and said "yeah, Public Display of Affection." This is where I understood, laughed and said "ohhh, I thought you meant Pathological Demand Avoidance! "
Much love
